Job Description

This is an Executive Search; our client is a Major Public organization looking of a Chief Operations Officer for their Electric/Utility Systems Division  located in Fayetteville, NC.

POSITION DETAILS

Salary Range: $165K and higher

 

Job Details:

Manage the Electric Systems Division and assure its economic and competitive success. You will advise and assist the CEO and Chief Officers in carrying out their functions and responsibilities to the
business; to manage the Electric Systems Division and develop the objectives, long range plans, and assure all goals are met

Duties:

To secure/generate/maintain a dependable, equitable cost supply of utilities services. Initiate the promotion of economic activity that will enhance the growth and development of the total service area.
Develop and strengthen management concepts  to promote the growth of employees and of the business.
Must have supervision experience to Manage Engineers, Power Plant Manager, Operations, and Power Contracts
Responsible for planning and directing the power supply needs including the power plant assets; the electric transmission system including total electric grid requirements;

Responsible for consulting with staff for the development of plans for the attainment of the business.

Responsible for annual work plans, programs and related budgets;
Responsible for financial solidarity; the planning/development and maintenance of facility improvements.

Responsible for adequate utility supply is available and provided; the execution of policy; the utilization of consultant expertise when necessary for consistent operation.

Work with the CEO for use in the Board of Commissioner’s meetings and be the point of contact for all electric regulatory authorities.

 

Additional Skills:

Reviews and stays informed of general system improvements and major construction;
Approves purchases of transportation equipment, tools, and supplies in accordance with operational policies and procedures;

Participates in the development of, as well as the execution of, the strategic plan
Assists with the sale of bonds and tracking of bond fund activities;.

 

To Apply - Must Have:

TEN years of experience working in an electric utility field

FIVE years as a Manager BEING IN Charge

Accredited Bachelor’s Degree
